Nike SB Stefan Jonoski New Colorways

Yesterday a special launch event took place in Los Angeles, to celebrate the release of the new Nike SB Stefan Janoski sneaker. Earlier today we already showed you a new white colorway of the shoe, which will be released on May 8th in black and brown.

At the launch event, Nike SB was showcasing many more new color-ups of the sneaker, including beige/brown options, all black, black croc and pony hair options of the shoe, all looking very solid. The sneaker clearly bridges skateboarding and lifestyle, probably more than any other shoe in the Nike SB range.

Nike SB Stefan Janoski White Colorway

Aside from the black and brown colorways that we already showed you, we came across this all white colorway today. The sneaker features a white leather upper, white stitching, white sole and lining, as well as white leather laces. Just very clean. So far, we do not know when this colorway comes out, but we will keep you posted!

UCB is a legendary Go-Go band. Add Wale, an amazing lyricist, and it is BANGIN'.

Go-go is a subgenre of funk that originated in the Washington, D.C., area during the mid- to late-1970s. A handful of bands contributed to the early evolution of the genre, but singer-guitarist Chuck Brown is credited with having developed most of the hallmarks of the style.

In technical terms, "Go-go's essential beat is characterized by a syncopated, dotted rhythm that consists of a series of quarter and eighth notes (quarter, eighth, quarter, (space/held briefly), quarter, eighth, quarter)… which is underscored most dramatically by the bass drum and snare drum, and the hi-hat… [and] is ornamented by the other percussion instruments, especially by the conga drums, timbale, and hand-held cowbells." A swing rhythm is often implied (if not explicitly stated).

Another important attribute in go-go is call-and-response with the crowd in concert.

The Blazer Hi “Green Spark” comes with a bright green upper with red accents, as well as laces. The Swoosh also comes in green, but in exotic animal leather, slightly differentiating it from the rest of the sneaker.
