Nike SB Swoosh Life Blazer Premium July 2009

Here is a look at an upcoming Summer 2009 release, the Nike Swoosh Life SB Blazer. They feature the words Swoosh Life on the insole and the back of the sneaker, props to Woonick for the pics.

Blazers in a classic color-way are fresh. White-red combo is a summer staple. The jingle written on the back reminds me that Nike is the king of marketing for a reason.

You know where to go for these; A locally owned store that brings diversity, culture, and lifestyle.

Nike SB Dunk Hi Pac-Man

We get a first look at the Pacman inspired Nike Dunk Hi SB. The sneaker comes in a multicolor look on the upper, made of suede, entirely inspired by the classic video game. So far there is no word on a release date, but we will of course keep you informed.

July 2009 Nike SB Release

There might be well over a week of June left but, true to form, the first batch of July’s SB general release shoes have arrived at UK retailers. Save for the Blazer, which comes in a familiar shade of green, albeit without the lizard pattern on the suede, simplicity is the key with the shoes on offer. The Bruin SB makes its first non-Supreme appearance in black/white and the Dunk Low matches the colourway. A third Janoski lightens things up in reed/stone.

Brits, keep your eyes on your local shop over the coming days/weeks and those in the rest of the world, hang tight, these are on their way very soon. Also, watch out for the imminent Dunk High and Mid Premiums and a Tre AD.

Nike SB Spring 2010

With six months to go, previews are emerging of the Nike SB Spring 2010 line up. First, Sneaker News posted catalogue images, then Brooklyn Projects revealed actual pictures of the samples.

There are lots of Dunks to choose from, whether you like Lows, Mids or Highs, including what look like more Pro Series offerings with matching tops.
Blazers, Bruins, Classics, Janoskis and P-Rod IIIs all make appearances, as well as brand new offerings – two Omar Salazar signature shoe colourways – and a fresh twist on an old model – the slimmed-down, vulcanised P-Rod 2.5.

Concepts x Blue Lobster Nike SB Dunk Low Premium A Detailed Look June 2009

The Blue Lobster Dunk serves as the sequel to last summer’s original Lobster Dunk, a Nike SB that first made waves on May 31, 2008. The first “Lobster” was shipped and promoted by the “Concepts Fishing Company,” and came equipped with a poster, lobster claw rubber band, tee shirt and condiment box (replete with lobster shell cracker, fork, bib, wet nap and “butter” shoelaces) all embossed with the “Concepts Fishing Company” logo. The first 50 pairs sold were available in ultra-limited edition packaging, with all of the above-mentioned bundled up in an authentic Concepts wooden lobster trap.

This time around, it’s dangerous! The “Blue Lobster” is a dangerous sub-breed of violent crustaceans that have been wrecking havoc on the otherwise tranquil waters of New England. Priced at $250.00 usd, the actual Blue Lobster sneaker will be bagged, tagged and sealed in a HAZMAT foam container. Each pair will be joined by an official Nike SB tee shirt, hang tag and lace lock. The first 200 pairs will come with 1 of 2 Concepts x Alien Workshop skate decks.

On June 20, while in line to pick up the Blue Lobster, Concepts will also be raffling off a pair of the original Lobster from 2008. Raffle tickets will be sold for $10 each and the drawing will be held immediately following the release.

After the launch of the Blue Lobster, Concepts will host the Official Blue Lobster Party, featuring a number of special guests and performers including DJ Statik Selektah, Termanology and Masspike Miles. The “Brew Live Cruise” will take place on board the MV Freedom, docked at Rowes Wharf in Boston, MA. Boarding begins at 8:00 pm and the vessel leaves at 9:00 pm sharp! Admission is $30 and only offered to those that are 21+.

Get ready for the release of the Concepts x Blue Lobster Nike SB Dunk Low Premium this coming Saturday, June 20th. Many detailed images of the pack follow after the jump.

Van Halen vs. Nike Lawsuit

WWD (password required) tips us off regarding the recent lawsuit proceedings of the Eddie Van Halen camp against Nike regarding the use of one of his trademarked graphics on a pair of Nike Dunk Lows. The graphic stems from Van Halen’s infamous red/white/black striped pattern seen on his “Frankenstein” guitar which he has held the rights to since 2001. Nike’s retort “Based on the information provided to us, we have not infringed on any rights held by Mr. Van Halen,” it said. “Nike’s Dunk shoe design is not substantially similar to any of the Van Halen designs, and Nike has not referenced the ‘Van Halen’ name or image as part of any marketing campaign or promotional material associated with the shoe.” View the article below for the entire scoop.

Eddie Van Halen wants Nike to stop running with the devil.

Reps for the Van Halen rocker’s company, ELVH Inc., filed a cause of action for copyright infringement Friday in Los Angeles Federal District Court against Beaverton, Ore.-based Nike.

ELVH alleges that the design of certain Nike Dunk Low styles infringe on the copyright the company holds for the red-white-and-black-striped pattern Van Halen made famous on his “Frankenstein” guitar — and for which the musician has held the copyright since 2001.

Citing “irreparable harm and damage,” ELVH is asking for the impoundment and destruction of all the shoes in question, as well as all profits from the sale of the shoes and damages.

As previously reported by Footwear News, Van Halen released a line of men’s high- and low-top sneakers featuring the Frankenstein design earlier this spring though licensee New Jersey-based FEA Merchandising, a company specializing in recording-artist merchandise.

Lawyers for Van Halen said they had no comment beyond the filing, preferring, they said, “to try cases in court.”

In a statement provided to FN by a brand spokesperson, Nike said it was aware of the lawsuit but did not believe it to have merit. “Based on the information provided to us, we have not infringed on any rights held by Mr. Van Halen,” it said. “Nike’s Dunk shoe design is not substantially similar to any of the Van Halen designs, and Nike has not referenced the ‘Van Halen’ name or image as part of any marketing campaign or promotional material associated with the shoe.”

Nike Bruin SB Sport Red / White November 2009

Nike Dunk High Pro SB ‘Gucci’ – 2005 vs 2009

It’s certainly no secret that Nike SB is finally bringing out the Dunk High from the ‘Team Manager’ series later this year – the so-called ‘Gucci’ Dunk, thanks to the use of a colour combination largely associated with the high-end fashion brand.
The revelation of the imminent release has raised several big questions. One of which is how the 2009 version will differ from the 2005 samples, of which only around 29 exist. Revive has provided an answer with it’s detailed pics comparing the old samples with the new.
The new tongue is fatter, as are the SB laces, and there is generally more padding around the shoe. The denim appears smoother and less frayed but this could change with wear, especially if they come into contact with griptape.
